The IFC together with local partners ISRA successfully held the third Malaysian session of the IFC Scholar Professional Development Programme in KL on February 23rd and 24th. Key topics covered a detailed analysis of Islamic banking operations including an in-depth analysis of the treasury function and the Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).
The event was hosted by INCEIF and with key support from Maybank Islamic and RHB Islamic. Participants included mid-level and aspiring scholars and commented, “the two days really gave me a practical insight into certain aspects of Islamic Banking which we could link to our shariah studies. I’m really looking forward to the next sessions, and further developing my understanding of financial markets.”
The IFC Scholar Professional Development Programmeis the only such global programme exclusively tailored for Shariah scholars and those associated with the Shariah assurance process. The programme focuses on training in conventional financial markets through adopting a continuous professional development approach. The programme has successfully been run in UK, Malaysia, Bahrain and due to launch in the UAE soon.
